I’m sorry Wiley, you did put up a good fight but nobody can match our little girl when she’s at the top of her game.

It’s one thing to not wanting share, but our little girl takes it to the next level by sleeping with one eye open right next to all of her toys.

Ca’mon Abbie, you’re still the only dog up here and the cats really don’t care much for a pink, fluffy squeaky bone (although I did see one of them eye your Rubber Elvis Chicken).

That was probably just another bird passing by the window, and it’s most likely long gone by now. Hopefully if we’re lucky enough, you’ll find something more interesting during your walk later…

I don’t know how you do it Abbie, I barely have any hair on my face and I can’t handle this heat at all. I guess I just won’t ever be as cool as you, no matter how hard I try.

Ca’mon Abbie, let’s just go back inside to the air conditioner because I don’t know how long we’ll be waiting for someone to come by and let us in.

Sorry Abbie, you can have anything you want, so as long as you put that evil eye away already.

I hope you have a good nap Abbie & I’ll go ahead and make that appointment to the doggy chiropractor right now for that kink you’ll have in your neck when you wake up.

If you ask me, she does this on purpose because her Dad can’t help but feel like a terrible person after seeing such a depressing face and will quickly rectify the situation with a showering of her favorite treats (which ALWAYS does the job).

But don’t fret, it doesn’t look like she’s bothered too much by these terrible turn of events.

Unfortunately for our little girl, she doesn’t have any pockets so she does the next best thing.

Next time you’re in a jam Abbie, just let me know and I’ll let you borrow mine…although, I’m not sure how good it’ll work on that nose of yours.

Hey Muffee, you do know we’re in earthquake-prone Southern California, right? Looks like Abbie’s way ahead of you on that one…

Proving that she has as many friends as her Dad does (if not more), Abbie too had someone who will be staying with us for the next few days. Luckily, this isn’t any ordinary friend, but her very first pal Muffee (he’s a boy, don’t ask), who happens to live at her grandparent’s house.

I’m sure they’re going to have a blast hanging out with each other, especially when the humans are all at work making sure they earn the money to keep plenty of kibble in their plates.

Little does she know that these little guys run a lot faster than she does, and despite her best efforts our little Abbie was unsuccessful on her mini-hunt.

But the good news is, she did find something much better hiding in the bushes. What was that? The weekend of course.

Now only if I can get her to give up on that lizard so we can get to enjoying this great weather already.

She’s such a picture of pure content, I’d bet she could make a living off of it.

Perhaps a future in motivational speaking? Nah, I think she’d be the perfect postcard model because nothing says “wish you were here” quite like the face of our special, little girl.

But don’t expect me to rain on her parade…if our little girl wants to be a leg lifter, then that’s fine with me. After all, better she does her business in the grass than the side of my couch.

Hump Day claims another victim, but I’m sure once our little girl wakes from her impromptu nap, she’ll be energized enough to finish this week off with a bang.

But don’t expect me to follow her around with a portable fan all day…next thing you know she’s going to think she’s some kind of model and start posing with her hair blowing in the wind all the time.

So what does our little girl do? To start off, she stakes out the perfect spot far in advance. And when the time is right she makes her move, vying for some high end table scraps from an unsuspecting crowd that has absolutely no chance at saying no to that puppy dog face of hers.

Well, I guess it’s better than letting her get caught up in any of those daytime soap operas because the last thing we need is an even more dramatic Abbie.

Try not to dwell on it too much Abbie, this is always the case when you’re having too much fun.

This year was especially fun thanks to the kiddie pool (which came in handy because of the heat) & an awesomely special doggie birthday cake. Everyone, especially our little Abbie, had lots of fun celebrating their happy little hearts out.

Party hard Abbie and we all wish you & your friends a very special Happy Birthday…now let’s go have some fun!

When we first got her, she wasn’t really sure where she was supposed to be. At every chance she had, she would try and run off, and only she knew where she was trying to go.

It took some time for her to realize how much everyone wanted her to stay, and I think once that set in something as simple as keeping the door open wasn’t a big deal anymore. This was because Abbie finally knew where she was supposed to be…at home with us.

A clear blue sky, a nice cool breeze & a big, grassy park…nothing but pure bliss for our little girl, who, without a doubt didn’t let one moment of it go to waste.

Knowing she had a few people waiting to see how her haircut turned out, I quickly took a picture of our little girl when I arrived.

Unbeknownst to me, Abbie wasn’t quite ready for her picture & quickly posed for a much better one, showing off what I can only conclude is what she thinks is her good side.

Today I have her lined up for a wash & haircut, and not to mention a much needed teeth cleaning. Too bad there’s no real way to take a picture of her bad breath, so you can truly know how “much needed” I really mean…you’ll just have to take my word on that (consider yourself lucky).

Oh, and another good reason why she needs a haircut? Well, the fact that she almost took my eye out this morning going in for a lick with one of her renegade spears of hair. Just follow that red arrow in the picture below and you’ll see what I mean…but don’t you worry, she’ll be good & safe (and really pooped out) by day’s end.

Whereas the thought of inconveniencing another person to use as a human pillow for a quick nap probably never crosses any one of our minds, I can tell you through personal experience that Abbie has no such problem with that and will do what it takes to get the job done…and from the looks of things, it’s a job well done indeed.

But it’s not the big guys who have to worry, instead it’s our littlest friends who might not be so interested in welcoming our over-exuberant Abbie.

In my years, I’ve seen her try to play with a little lizard, the tiniest cricket, and she’s even chased after a rooster too….but lucky for them they were all pretty fast on their feet and able to escape Abbie’s patented sniff-lick combo move.

Let’s hope that our friend below is lucky enough to get away before Abbie spys her little eye on him, because I just don’t think he’s got the legs to get away from our happy, little girl.

Don’t get me wrong, Abbie still demands nothing but the best in life, but it’s nice knowing that our little girl will play with her Dad in a grassy knoll or two, even though our definition of “waist-high” may be two entirely different things.

Lucky for us they’re safely away from us on their balcony…but I’m sure she’d do her best to protect her ol’ Dad if it came down to it, right Abbie?

What is it that she’s so excited to see? The weekend, of course!

But there’s still a bit left in your walk, so hopefully we’ll get lucky and come across a sunbathing lizard you can chase back into the bushes.

Not too long after we resumed our walk, Abbie turned to me and asked where the heck her flag was…I’m sure it’s flying high somewhere Abbie, just not at our house.

Now, how about we go have some fun while the weather’s still good!

Abbie. She doesn’t only make good products. She makes good products better.

Those plans also include where we have lunch. Lucky for Abbie, not only did Dad have a $10 off coupon for Buca di Beppo, they also offered curbside pickup, which Abbie liked very much as well (but not as much as the bread included in our meal).

Thanks for keeping an eye out for me Abbie, but you’re still not getting any of my burrito.

I sure hope her highness lets me put those pillows away after she’s done resting her royal butt on them.

Ca’mon Abbie, Dad’s gonna be late for work…not like you can’t go back to sleep after I leave anyways.

I’m sorry Abbie, you’re not as popular as you think…

Just like below where a couch pillow looked like it was going to be a great place to relax. About halfway through, Abbie realized that things weren’t going to be as comfortable as she thought. Instead of giving up, our little girl went through with her plan and found herself uncomfortably comfortable for the duration of the night.

After roaming around the dog park for a little bit, she eventually became comfortable with the other dogs around her. And what better to really get to know someone is to sniff them the way dogs do.

What started off as a 1-on-1 endeavor eventually led to this Circle of Smell, and from the looks of things, everyone seems to be happy with everything they’re learning about one another.

I’d be mad at you Abbie, but but since you don’t have opposable thumbs, you’re off the hook for now…

Hey Abbie, if you’re not hearing anything, maybe you should put a cup against the wall & try to listen in that way…

The first is no more treats. This is quite horrific, especially since Abbie doesn’t understand that treats are for special occasions. In Abbie’s mind, every time she’s around is a special occasion deserving of a treat. Although that’s debatable, to make sure there’s no allergies going on with these goodies, those unfortunately have to stop.

If that doesn’t solve her itchiness problems, well, then it’s bath time. And you know what Abbie hates the most? Yup, the time in the tub…which did relieve her itches, but it definitely came at a price.

Sorry Abbie, this is going to hurt me a lot more than it’s going to hurt you.

Looks like she’s reaching for the bottle of Jameson’s Irish Whiskey and it doesn’t look like she’s slowing down one bit…lucky for her I volunteered to be her designated driver.

In moderation Abbie, that’s all I’m asking…

I see you Abbie, and yes, you are very awesome. Now can I go back to watching TV now?
